Hello, and welcome to my Blog.
I have a store on Etsy, (
www.emtsgirlfriend.etsy.com) and someone suggested that in order to get some more traffic, I should do a blog.
So here I am.
I'm not sure right now the direction my thoughts will take. Honestly, I'm a very opinionated person, so there will be plenty of rants and raves. There will be attempts at advertising. I will put as much effort as I can into this blog!
But first, onto the introductions!
My name is Julie, and I'm 26 years old. I will be 27 at the end of the month, and I hate that idea. Of course, I hated turning 26 also, so I suppose I've enterd a downward spiral as far as aging goes! I live in Las Vegas, Nevada, and have all of my life. When I tell people that, they usually assume that I have an amazingly exciting life, filled with mystery and intrigue because I live in...dun dun dunnnnn SIN CITY!!! The truth about living in Las Vegas is simple. Most of us avoid the strip like the plague, don't gamble often, and live a normal life that could be found in any other town. The only difference is when I travel, I get very annoyed when I find out the gas stations, or restaurants CLOSE. LOL you can pretty much go out and do anything whenever you want here, and that's what I'm used to!
As my name suggests, my boyfriend of 3 years is an EMT here in town. He is great. We met for the first time in pre-school! My mother took a job at the school, and remembers him as a little boy. We hung around with the same people, and played together, but weren't best buds. We went our seperate ways, and ran into each other again in soccer! I was a complete tom boy growing up, and I ended up being removed from the girls soccer team and placed on the boys team because I was to violent with the girls. The first few weeks were BRUTAL. I was the only girl, and the boys did not take to kindly to this fact. I was kicked, balls were thrown at me, my fingers were stomped on with cleats, and most of all I was teasted by most of the guys. My boyfriend didn't jump in on the teasing too much, but he certainly didn't stick up for me. Luckily I was a tough little chick, and after a while they got used to me. It wasn't a Disney moment, were they grew to love and respect me, but at least I didn't have the open hostility!
After soccer, once again we went our seperate ways until High School, where we ran into each other again. Once again, our respective groups of friends hung out, and once again we weren't particularly best buds!!
After high school, I got ahold of his number and called him a few times. Would you believe he completely blew me off? After the second blow off, I had no intention of calling him again. Well, he felt guilty about being such a dick, so he called me back, and after that we spent at LEAST 6 hours a day on the phone. Why on the phone, you ask? Because he had gone to college in Arizona, and I had stayed in Vegas. So we had a long distance relationship, where usually we would both travel to see each other once a month.
Even before we were dating, I knew he was the one. He took a little more convincing!
I'm so happy to say that after 3 years, he is my best friend, my confidant, my lover, and my everything.
Enough with the sappiness already, I hear people gagging!
So crafting is totally second nature to me. My mother crafted, and now I do. Isn't that just the way?
I love my jewelry, I'm very proud of them. I enjoy making things, and am trying to get my etsy shop off the ground. I haven't made any sales yet, and that is mildly worrisome, but I've been told multiple times it's hard to make your first sale!
That's all for right now, I'm going to be posting something seperate regarding the promotion I have going on at
www.emtsgirlfriend.etsy.comShameless advertising...what fun!
See ya!
Julie
